Since 1994 - The comfort, safety, health and happiness of each pet guest is our number one priority!
At Sunnidale Boarding Kennels - Dog & Cat Resort we understand
that leaving your loved one in the hands of others is an important and difficult decision. And, delivering our clients an unmatched peace-of-mind is what makes us a premier dog & cat care facility!
At Sunnidale Boarding Kennels Dog & Cat Resort the comfort, safety, health and happiness is our #1 priority. In doing so, all of our pet guests’ medical records, personality profiles and special needs are carefully recorded to ensure a safe and healthful visit. We supervise our guests 24-hours per day, seven days per week. And, in the unlikely event of an emergency, we are conveniently located close to the Mill St Animal Clinic!
For maximum safety, all guests must meet our published health and temperament standards prior to check-in. In the event a pet arrives and does not meet our guidelines, they are referred to the veterinary professionals of Mill St Animal Clinic! before they can be admitted. In the best interest of our pet guests, all clients consent (via written agreement) to medical attention from Mill St Animal Clinic! while under our care.
Dog & Cat guests requiring special attention while boarding (handling, injections, splint/bandage changes, hand feeding, etc.) are handled on a case-by-case basis. The staff will administer oral and topical medications as instructed. All medications shall be provided by owner, clearly labeled and must include written instructions with pet’s name, type of medication, dosage, and schedule.

What about exercise?
Each private dog suite has a doggy door connecting the private dog suite to a private, secure, individual run area. Additionally a walk on leash and playtime in the 2 acre BARK PARK is included in the day rate. You can also request extended walks and playtime , this can be accommodated daily for a small fee. Although as much freedom as possible has been designed into our kennels we are still very concerned with security. There are safety corridors adjacent to the run areas and safety locks on all doors.
Does my pet have to be vaccinated?
All DOGS must be currently inoculated. Proof of vaccination is required. Dogs must have bordetella, rabies, distemper, hepatitus, pariainfluenza and paravovirus vaccinations. If your dog does not have Bordetella on a yearly basis it must be given by Veterinarian 10 days prior to boarding.
All CATS must be currently inoculated against rabies, panleukopenia, rhinotrachitis, and calici virus.
How will my pet be fed?
All dogs and cats are fed as individuals and our aim is to feed your pet the same food that he would have at home. Please notify us of your pet’s feeding requirements at the time of booking. We prefer you to bring your own food so their diet does not change as this can add stress to your pets system.
We sometimes get special instructions from our pets.
This letter we received from Toby is outstanding.
Hello! My name is Toby, and I thought I would tell you a few things about me!!
I am a fearful dog, I am shy and afraid of new people, so I will more than likely bark at you until I get used to you, and until you get to know me. (treats usually speed up this process!) So, just ignore me until I approach you once I trust you. (I was abused in my former life, and have never quite gotten over it)
I also cannot be allowed to play with other dogs, so I must always be kept alone. In other words, I cannot be let into direct contact with another dog, I was attacked by a dog once, and this too, has left me very defensive. Also, probably a good idea not to put me next to an aggressive dog.
My mom calls me a “runner”. She said that under no circumstances am I ever to be allowed off leash outside a building. I will see something and take off on you!! (she used to find me in the neighbours yard until Dad built my fence higher so I could not get out!
I am only allowed 1 or 2 “toothbrush” treats per day, no matter how much I may tell you differently! For the first while, I can have many treats until we become good friends, but after that, my parents will ask you to cut them back. (apparently I put on few pounds last year!)
I love pumpkin in my food! One good spoonful mixed in my kibble is super yummy! It just needs to be kept in the fridge though, and I also get 3 squirts of some brown stuff once a day on my food, which my dad says is to help me jump up on the bed better!
I will groom myself on the fence in the kennel run. Do not be alarmed at the amount of fur I will leave behind, I have lots!
I will also bring all my stuffies out into the run to show everyone!
I think we will be great friends, I love coming here!
